Misplaced Optimism

Now.

Now.

Now.

Now!

Now!

Now!

When?!

When?!

Now!

Please!

NOW!!!

Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

sigh.

I’m me.

I’m alright.

Just be.

It’s not a fight.

It’s going to be great.

You’ll see.

It’s fate.

Patience is key.

It’s nearly here.

Worry not.

Have no fear,

You were never forgot.

To eat out, and see shows

Life in these damn shoes I’ve been wearing.

To understand is to walk in the same shoes, that is no secret.

You know, lately I’ve been thinking that I need a new pair of shoes.

It happens that I have an exact pair in mind… promiscuous shoes, the really fun kind!

Shoes that really get around, because they’re not as hard to find.

Not as elusive as the kind of shoes one wears to eat out and see shows.

“I refused to change.  I refused to hide something about myself that was true.  I refused to be embarrassed about something so that other people could feel more comfortable.” - Aimee Mullins in response to her parents belief that it was inappropriate for her to wear dresses that exposed her prosthetic legs.
The photo was done by Matthew Barney (Bjork’s man) and features Aimee Mullins. Check out her cheetah legs.

When a beautiful voice pleas for peace and respect for life through artistic expression, it resonates inside of me, and I have to cry.

In the grand scheme of balance, life and death, light and dark, yin and yang…I’m grateful that I know compassion and empathy.  I am grateful that I am an animal, unapologetic for my nature.  I am grateful for the ability to see the beauty of all life, and at the same time respect death, for death too is beautiful.  I am grateful that I want to be good and not evil.

Listening to Perfect Timing by Orba Squara.

Look closer and you will see a ship at sea with a big imperfect sun on the horizon.  The ship sails away from a restaurant and toward another object which happens to be an owl perched on a branch.
To me, this piece suggests that your days of working as a restaurant server are behind you, but now you are at sea and you are unsure of where you are going.  Even so, the sun still rises in spite of when it all seems a bit off.  If you could see the bigger picture, you would see that you are headed toward an owl sitting on a tree branch.  In ancient Greece, owls were seen as symbols of good fortune, and that is what this owl means.  It is perched on a very strong branch, a support system which symbolizes your incredible friends and family because they constantly smile at you and remind you that they love you which makes you feel better.  Finally, to overview, this piece suggests that you have no reason to give up on hope because the bigger picture shows that wonderful things are just ahead.
My 10 year old nephew drew this picture today.  I love it.  To him, I think it means that he really likes owls and ships and eating out.
